Job Searching Tips
Keep your CV up to date and current at all times there is nothing worse than having to start updating a CV that is years old!
Tailor your CV to specific roles. It is important that your CV matches the job specification and remember it is often HR who is vetting your CV and 9 times out of 10 they are not technical.
Rejections are part of the process, everyone gets rejected at some point. It is important to learn from it and move on.
Treat every job application as a new opportunity.
Do not submit multiple generic applications simultaneously to every agency in the region. Pick 1 or 2 that have a good reputation and develop a relationship with them.
Do a personal skills and experience audit, listing all your soft, technical and leadership capabilities to ensure you’re selling all of your best talents.
If you’ve been job hunting for a long time, take a break, rejuvenate and re-energise yourself.
You are in charge of your job search success . . . and only you! Plan your strategy using active and integrated planning, and remember, always try and get feedback on your applications and interviews. Constructive feedback will ensure you don’t make the same mistakes a second time.
