Supplier Engineer II - Contract
Our client, a medical device company in Galway is currently looking to recruit a Supplier Engineer for their site on a contract basis
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to execute core Supplier Engineering activities to support the company’s site. This encompasses all aspects of 3rd party supplier change management (Materials / Process). It also includes being the technical support for all purchased categories in the company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for all assessing all Supplier Changes (SCIA) including but not limited to;
• Define the SCIA approval plan.
• Identify the qualification requirements for each change, working closely with all relevant stakeholders.
• Resolve any ambiguous requirements.
• Distribute SCIA for approval.
• Notify Supplier of Approval Status
2. Responsible for assessing all Activity Acceptance Activities (AA) including but not limited to;
• Identifying where inspection will be completed ( Supplier).
• Identification of Critical to Control (CTC) parameters.
• Create AA Protocol, release within Quality System (QS) and forward to supplier.
• Review and Distribute approved AA report within QS.
• Notify Supplier of Approval Status.
3. Responsible for all assessing all First Article Inspection requirements (FAI) including but not limited to;
• Create FARF Protocol and release within QS.
• Forward FARF Protocol to Supplier.
• Review and Distribute approved FARF Report within QS.
• Notify Supplier of Approval Status.
4. Responsible for all Regulated Material Compliance (RMC) Requirements including but not limited to;
• Initiate eCMA Request with the supplier.
• Resolve any ambiguities that exist.
• Review completed form / data supplied.
• Manage compliance on the eCRIB system.
• Notify Supplier of Approval Status.
5. Technical lead on Supply Sourcing Team comprising representatives from Purchasing, Supplier Quality within the site.
6. Demonstrates Technical Leadership skills across all Categories.
7. Completes Technical visits within the Supply Base as required to support ongoing business needs.
8. Develop company’s understanding of supplier’s capacity and capability in line with business requirements.
9. Provides timely updates to relevant stakeholders as required.
10. Supports investigation of Material Quality issues as they arise and works closely with Quality and Procurement team members within the site to resolve issues and support the disposition of product.
11. Promotes the company’s Quality System within the Supply Base.
12. Works with Quality and Procurement team members to ensure that components meet established requirements.
13. Ensures that adequate Corrective Actions are identified, implemented and controlled by Suppliers.
14. Provides guidance to other functional areas in applying Supplier Management system requirements.
15. Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvement of Supplier Management Policies and Procedures within the site.
16. Communicates effectively with all Internal & External Stakeholders.
17. Develops new Supply sources with Procurement Team in line with Global Sourcing Strategies (GS).

Education Qualifications
• HETAC Level 8 qualified in a relevant discipline/ 5- 6 years of Supplier Engineering experience.
General On-The-Job Requirements
• Working knowledge of SCIA / AAC / FAI / RMC Requirements.
• Good communicator.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Represents the company in positive manner.
• 6 Sigma qualification an advantage
